Sajek Valley Rangamati-Sajek Valley is located on the border of India’s Mizoram in the north of the Rangamati district. Sajek Valley is named after the Sajek River which originates from the Karnafuli River. Sajek is a union of Baghaichhari Upazila of Rangamati district, which is the largest union of Bangladesh and has a total area of about 700 square miles. Dighinala Upazilla of Khagrachari district on the western side of Sajek, Langadu Upazila of Rangamati district on the south, Tripura in the north and in East India’s Mizoram are situated. Although Sajek is located in the Rangamati district, if you go to Khagrachhari’s Dighinala, it is convenient. Sajek valley’s distance 70 kilometers from Khagrachari Sadar, 49 kilometers from Dighinala and 34 kilometers from Baghaihat.

About Sajek Valley
Sajek Valley is a very beautiful tourist place in Bangladesh. This has now become the focus of attraction for travel lovers people. Sajek valley is surrounded by mountains, dense forest, and grasslands hilly tracks. Many small rivers flow through the mountains among which Kachalong and Machalong are noticeable. Though Sajek valley is a remote area, yet many people come here to visit every year. Its amazing beauty captivates everyone. So the tourists are attracted to the Sajek valley. Sajek valley is called the queen of the mountains and the roof of Rangamati.
From Khagrachari to Dighinala Army Camp, Sajek has to go. At the time of going to Sajek, the 10th Baghaihat police and Army camp will be seen. You have to get permission from this army camp to go to Sajek. Then the Kachalong Bridge, the Kachalong River was originated by two small rivers. Then you will be seeing Tiger Tila Army Camp and Machalong Bazar. When the Machalong Bazar is crossed, the first village of Sajek is Ruilui Para, which is 1800 feet. The main population of the Ruilui Para is the Lusai. There are also Pankua, Tripura and Chakmas are life here. Ruilui Para was established in 1885. Lal Thanga Lusai is the headman of Ruilui Para. Sajek valley is very nearly from Ruilui Para. Sajek’s BGB camp is the highest BGB camp in Bangladesh. In Sajek valley, helipad facilities are available for helicopter landing.
Sajek Valley Tourist Spots
There are many beautiful tourist spots near Sajek. Two-and-a-half an hour of tracking from Ruilui Para, Kamalak Fountain which is beautiful that will blow your mind. Kamalak fountain also known as Pidam Toisa fountain or Sikam Toisa fountain. The last village of Sajek is Konglak Para. This area is populated by the Lusai community. The Lusai hills of India are seen from the Konglak Para, from where the Karnafuli River is originated. Sometimes Sajek BGB camp is no longer allowed to go to Konglak Para due to security reasons. While returning from Sajek, you also see Hajachora fountain, Dighinala hanging bridge, Alutila Cave and Dighinala Bon Bihar.

How to go Sajek Valley
Dhaka to Sajek valley distance is around 339 Kilometer. You can visit Sajek Valley in a day with Jeep car (Local name Chander Ghari) from Khagrachari or Dighinala, Whose rent is 5500. A maximum of 15 people was sitting in this vehicle. If you come back day by day, the rent will be Tk 5500. If you come from one night to the next day, the rent will be 7700-8000 Takas. And if you have two nights, it will be worth 10000 to 13000 Takas.

If people are less, then you can take CNG from the Khagrachari town. CNG rent will be Tk 4000 to Tk 5000. However, taking CNG for this journey is very risky. Or you can go to Dighinala from Khagrachari city and then go to Sajek. On the bus from Khagrachari to Dighinala, the fare is 45/ taka per person. And on Motorcycle the fare is 100/taka per person. You can travel Sajek valley from Dighinala with a motorcycle rental of Tk 1,000 to Tk 1200. When you return, you must cross the Baghaihat army camp before evening; otherwise, you have to face many questions. Of course, there is a matter of mind that it is forbidden to take photographs of camps.
